Your new LinkedIn banner, headline and Featured

Five options, each a different layout. Pick one number and use that option's banner, headline and Featured tile together. Every option sends people to your free Impromptu Speaking Techniques guide with the word you already use: “INFLUENCE”. Each banner is shown at real phone size too, so you can see it reads.

Your plan

Your buyer: senior leaders who have the experience but aren't being listened to.

Your profile says one thing, "get heard the first time", and the free guide ("INFLUENCE") is how people raise their hand.

The Real Influence evenings (Melbourne 7 Oct, Sydney 8 Oct, Brisbane 21 Oct) are the next step: invite your target list with the client story that matches their role.

The one-shot DM is for people who engage with your posts or connect. The invites below are for your list.

How to put it live

  1. Pick one option below.
  2. Upload the banner. It's already 1584 × 396.
  3. Paste the headline into Edit intro.
  4. Featured → Add a link → arabellamacpherson.com/subscribe, then upload the tile as its image.
  5. Reply to every “INFLUENCE” with the guide, then the DM below.

Five options

Option 1Your current banner, made clearer: your face, who you help, and the logos of companies you have coached leaders at. The one we would pick.

What every option offers

Impromptu Speaking Techniques, page 1Impromptu Speaking Techniques, page 2

Impromptu Speaking Techniques

Your own two-page guide: ten structures for making a clear point when there's no time to prepare, from PREP and 4MAT to Rule of Three and Stop / Start. It's already on your newsletter thank-you page, so everyone who asks for it joins your list.

The one-shot DM

Send it to anyone who likes or comments on your posts, or who's just connected. Swap the highlighted bits for each person.

Hey [FIRST NAME], I'm about to head out the door to walk Nessie, mum's dachshund, so I thought I'd send this before I forget.

I saw you [liked / commented on] my post about [TOPIC] (or: thanks for connecting!), so I wanted to properly say hello.

I'm Arabella and I run Real Influence. I help senior leaders who are great at the work get heard the first time they speak, without becoming someone else to do it.

I had a look at your profile and you reminded me of a [ROLE] I've worked with.

[She/He] used to [BEFORE]. Now [RESULT].

It works because we start with the person across the table, not the slides. How do they like to communicate, what do they do under pressure, and what will they ask? Then you make your point in a shape they can repeat.

It's taken me 18 years and more than 500 stages to get this right.

Right now we've got [THE OFFER].

As you can imagine, the 40-slide deck isn't a big fan of us haha.

Anyway, I really have to go or Nessie will never forgive me.

Would you be open to a quick chat about how it works? I've got [TIME 1] or [TIME 2] free tomorrow.

If not, no biggie at all. I'm happy to just send you my Impromptu Speaking Techniques guide instead.

Nice to meet you!

Cheers,
Arabella

Invite them to a workshop

For your target list. The case-study line is the hook, the invite is one sentence plus the ask, and the link only goes out in message 3 or after they say yes. [Square brackets] are yours to fill in. {Curly brackets} fill in automatically.

The workshop

Real Influence: an evening on being heard

For senior leaders who have the experience but keep getting talked over. Two hours on getting heard the first time you speak.

  1. Command the room without fighting for airtime
  2. Be known for your ideas, not watch someone else get celebrated for them
  3. Shape the decisions instead of reacting to them

Format: In person, CBD. Melbourne Wed 7 Oct and Sydney Thu 8 Oct, 5:30 to 7:30pm. Brisbane Wed 21 Oct, 7 to 9am. 24 seats per city, $50 + GST. Booking: arabellamacpherson.com/real-influence-events

Why this workshop: Built on a real client: the CTO who started telling stories, was handed the media for Australia, then was headhunted into a CEO role in Asia. Open the evening with that story. Clients by role only, never by name.

Which message when: Match the story to their job: tech leaders get the CTO line, sales and commercial leaders the head of sales line, finance leaders the CFO line. Messages below are for Sydney. For Melbourne say "Wednesday 7 October"; for Brisbane say "Wednesday 21 October" and "breakfast". Send message 1 by 30 Sep so message 3 lands before the night.

If you've chatted with them before, open with: "Hey {First name}, I remember we were chatting about [X] at [WHERE]." Then carry on from "I'm hosting…".

1. The invite

One sentence plus the ask. Pick the variant that matches their role.

Variant A: tech leaders (CTO, CIO, Head of Engineering)

Hey {First name}, I know this is a bit random.

I'm hosting a small private workshop for execs in the Sydney CBD on Thursday 8 October, walking through how a CTO I coached started telling stories, was handed the media for Australia, and then got headhunted into a CEO role in Asia.

Would you like to come?

Variant B: sales and commercial leaders

Hey {First name}, I know this is a bit random.

I'm hosting a small private workshop for execs in the Sydney CBD on Thursday 8 October, walking through how a head of sales I coached became CEO for Australia and then MD for the region.

Would you like to come?

Variant C: finance leaders (CFO, Finance Director)

Hey {First name}, I know this is a bit random.

I'm hosting a small private workshop for execs in the Sydney CBD on Thursday 8 October, walking through how a CFO I coached stopped presenting numbers and was told he was one of the best speakers in the industry.

Would you like to come?

Personalise it

  • {Company}: add it to the "who" part. "…for execs like you at {Company} in the Sydney CBD…" → "…for execs like you at Westpac in the Sydney CBD…"
  • Their role: name it instead of "execs" when it fits. "…for heads of technology in the Sydney CBD…"
  • A past chat or shared connection: open with "Hey {First name}, I remember we were chatting about [X] at [WHERE]." → "Hey Priya, I remember we were chatting about board papers at the AIMA lunch."
  • Their recent post: open with one clause about it. "Hey {First name}, loved your post about [TOPIC]." → "Hey Tom, loved your post about presenting to the new board."

Example (filled in)

Example only, to a made-up prospect: Priya, Head of Technology at a big bank, met at an AIMA lunch. Variant A.

Hey Priya, I remember we were chatting about board papers at the AIMA lunch.

I'm hosting a small private workshop for tech leaders in the Sydney CBD on Thursday 8 October, walking through how a CTO I coached started telling stories, was handed the media for Australia, and then got headhunted into a CEO role in Asia.

Would you like to come?

2. Follow-up (2 days later)

The message

Hey {First name}, I was chatting to [NAME], who reports into the [ROLE] at [COMPANY] and is stuck on [PROBLEM], and it reminded me to reach back out.

Keen to come?

Problems to pick from (all from your events page)

  • getting talked over before they've finished making their point
  • watching someone else voice their idea and get the credit for it, again
  • thinking of the right comment in the meeting but holding back

3. Hail Mary (3 days after that)

The message

Hey {First name}, I swear this is my last message haha.

It'll be a room of 24 execs on Thursday 8 October, and we'll go deep on how to command the room without fighting for airtime.

If you'd like a seat, you can book here: https://www.arabellamacpherson.com/real-influence-events

Once I see you've booked, I'll give you a quick call so I can hear what you'd most like to get out of the evening and run you through who else will be in the room.

And if you're snowed under, just let me know and I'll reach out for the next one.

When they say yes

The reply

Awesome, we'd love to have you there! Here's the link: https://www.arabellamacpherson.com/real-influence-events

Do you have 5 minutes at [TIME] or [TIME] today? I'd love to run you through who else is coming.

By email

Same three steps. Swap in the variant line that matches their role.

I swear this is my last email about it.

Before it goes live

  • Say the guide on the subscribe page. arabellamacpherson.com/subscribe says “Stay sharp” but doesn't mention the guide. One line like “Subscribe and get my Impromptu Speaking Techniques guide straight away” makes the Featured link match the banner.
  • One job for “INFLUENCE”. Your September posts use it for the program. With this kit it means “send me the guide”. The DM then offers the evening or the program.
  • Your headline and top role. Your headline right now is about the October events, and your top Experience entry is “People Consultant and Trainer”. Add Real Influence at the top so it matches.
  • “Author” on your current banner. None of these options say author. If there's a book, send it over and we'll add it, because it's strong proof.
